December 2016 – Around 30 artists convene in London to share the results of their ongoing creative collaboration in the “Connect: Katowice and London” project, in which British and Polish artists seek to discover the benefits and challenges of working together across cultures, languages, and distance. Connect:Katowice

After collaborating all summer long, the artists and curator close the London chapter of Connect:, on 16th December 2016, which from 1st December comprised of a week of developing works-in-progress, followed by a 10-day exhibition, at Ply Gallery in Hornsey Town Hall. In this rich and engaging project, 30-some artists from the UK and Poland were set into small groups in April, with the aim to discover their own “Connections” and shared artistic language, and devise their own collaborative process, in order to develop artwork together.

Led by London-based curator Oksana Smirnova, 12 Connect: projects were installed at Ply Gallery in North London’s Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre (between 1-16 December 2016) which served as the midway juncture in the year-long arts/ cultural project.
